About

The Wrocław Agile Development Hackathon will be an all-night programming contest focused on communication solutions. During the event, you will have the opportunity to develop a working prototype of an app that can spark off a revolution! It's a great opportunity to learn, collaborate and use your imagination.
The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 14-15 March 2020. Some inspiring presentations will help you choose the right idea for your project. We are also going to provide a space for you to collaborate with other participants, as well as food and lots of coffee you can turn into code.
We all agree competing makes us better. The projects presented to the audience will be subject to assessment by our judges, who will then select the winners. The best ideas will be awarded with amazing prizes which will definitely make the sleepless night worth it!

Theme

Communication in the 21st century is advanced as never before. You can use various devices in the most imaginative form to build relationships, learn, work and make lives easier. We believe modern communications have no borders and we need your help to prove it!

Use your imagination and invent an app that will spark off a revolution. The only requirement is for it to constitute or utilize a communication solution. Examples are chat bots, sentiment analysis engines, modern communicators and many more. Be creative and don't shy away from your ideas.

Mentors

Artur Michalczyk

Artur has a global responsibility for Vonage CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) technology strategy, development and platform operations.

Michael Heap

Michael’s a Developer Relations Manager at Vonage, focusing on the experience developers have when integrating the product. That means ensuring that APIs behave predictably, producing outstanding documentation and providing SDKs in 8 languages to make it as easy to get started as possible.

Kevin Lewis

Kevin Lewis is a Developer Advocate for Vonage, where his role is to support the local tech community in London. He’s an experienced events organiser, boardgamer and dad to a cute little dog called Moo. He’s also the lead organizer for You Got This - a network of events on the core skills needed for a happy, healthy work life.

Daniel Nikończuk

Daniel works as Software Engineer at Vonage for four years. His first contact with programming took place before he finished school. Over the years, coding became a passion for him and turned him into a path of a professional programmer. He is co-author of two books, one of which refers to the SaaS concept used at Vonage. Besides the technical knowledge, he also presents a high level of soft skills and agility, so important in IT business.

Oleksandr Mazuruk

Result-oriented professional with 16+ years of experience in Software Development as IT Engineer in the areas including internet/intranet technology, client-server applications. Advanced knowledge of developing applications and best practices (including design patterns and client/server architecture) with specialization in Front end.

As the WAD Hackathon is fully sponsored by Vonage, we donate all the proceeds from tickets we sell to the chosen charity.

We currently support money collection for the little gentleman named Leon. This young boy was born with a heart defect that requires constant therapy. He has been through a few surgical procedures already and needs significant amount of money for the continuation of his treatment.
